Education Staffing Specialist/UKHC

Job description



The Education Staffing Specialist will assist the Education Coordinator with the execution of orientation processes for new employees; establishing Respiratory Therapist Internship program with identified schools; and identify and implement training opportunities with staff throughout the year. Responsibilities will including scheduling new employee orientation; tracking orientation through completion; identifying ongoing staff education needs and ensuring standardization of education of new employees; identifying potential recruitment opportunities; maintaining communication with respiratory programs to ensure student rotation and recruitment; and establishing ongoing site visits to program; creating workshop opportunities for staff to improve skills and techniques; and providing accurate documentation of personnel education and training to support and comply with state and accrediting organizations. Will also be responsible for representing Respiratory Care in various meetings and events to ensure the department has appropriate representation and involvement per scope of practice and to ensure support of other disciplines and may include occasional job-related travel.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include the ability to perform or be subjected to: extensive walking; regular lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, and/or walking with objects up to or over 50 lbs.; tasks requiring repetitive motions (such as typing) and sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and occasional job-related travel. May also involve occasional or intermittent exposure to: confined spaces and/or heights above four feet; loud noises; hazardous chemicals and fumes (including waste); communicable diseases; combative/violent people/patients; and the risk of injury from radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, patient movement and/or job-related instruments.



Shift

Primarily days, Monday through Friday; some nights, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays may be required in order to meet departmental needs.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

The ideal candidate will be extremely organized with excellent communication skills (written and verbal); have superb computer skills; great attention to detail; and have a strong understanding of respiratory skills and human resources practices.
