Assistant Professor, Mass Media Program

General Summary of Responsibilities: The Department of Communication Arts seeks applicants for an academic, tenure-track position. All faculty share the responsibility of teaching courses at multiple levels as needed in their respective disciplines. To carry out our comprehensive mission, we seek faculty with the desire and ability to successfully engage students as they launch or continue their intellectual journey, a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. The normal teaching load is four courses per semester. The position will be responsible for teaching courses in media writing and social media for visual communication. Other teaching assignments are possible based on qualifications and experience. Courses will be delivered in traditional, online, hybrid, and in off-campus formats. Faculty members are expected to make substantive contributions to the Department including mentoring, departmental and university service, and community service.
