Position Summary: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the nation's top five public research universities, has an enrollment of more than 28,000 students and a faculty of 3,100. The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seek a full-time development officer to help design, implement and monitor corporate and foundation fund raising activities for several campus-wide initiatives related to scholarships and student aid and college access and completion. The Assistant Director will be focused on growing overall support for these initiatives with an emphasis on identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate and foundation major gifts of $25,000 and above. Occasional travel required.

Education Requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required.

Qualification and Experience: Leading candidates will have a minimum of two years of demonstrated success in external fundraising, preferably in corporate and foundation arena, and a working knowledge of the higher education development process including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship; demonstrated understanding of college access issues including scholarships and student aid; strong writing and presentation skills; experience in basic public relations, including promotions and marketing activities; an outgoing personality, enthusiasm and commitment to help students achieve college access and success; and must be comfortable working with senior university development professionals and campus leaders to achieve programmatic goals. The leading candidate will be focused on growing support for the University's college access and achievement programs.
