Position Summary: The Division of Infectious Diseases at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an Assistant Professor, tenure track, faculty member. Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting original research on parasitic and other infections in the international setting. Inpatient Infectious Diseases consultation and patient care, approximately two months per year and out-patient General Infectious Diseases care. Teaching and mentoring of Infectious Diseases post-doctoral fellows and instruction of medical residents and students in the context of clinical care.
Education Requirements: MD required
Qualification and Experience: Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease trained physician who is board eligible or board certified in Infectious Diseases. Established research experience in Infectious Diseases in an international setting focused on malaria or other non-HIV associated infectious diseases. Evidence of successful research funding is preferred. Clinical experience and interest in general Infectious Diseases in the in-patient and outpatient setting is required. Interest in tick-borne infections also preferred.
