Position Summary: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Department of Genetics, is seeking a candidate to join the research program directed by Dr. Jonathan Berg. This position is a fixed-term research faculty position that will involve leadership of and contributions to NIH-funded clinical genomic efforts underway including the Clinical Genome Resource (ClinGen) program, as well as the UNC School of Medicine's Program for Precision Medicine in Healthcare. The successful candidate will function as a senior member of the Berg Lab, helping to drive the multi-disciplinary research agenda and directing laboratory and project operations. Responsibilities will include supporting senior staff scientists leading defined research activities within the lab, supervising group members across a diverse range of projects, authoring and co-authoring publications and scientific presentations, and preparing grant applications and documentation required to meet project requirements. In addition, the successful candidate will serve as Associate Director of the Program for Precision Medicine in Healthcare, overseeing the implementation of key priorities in support of the mission to advance evidence-based precision medicine and precision healthcare through an integrated program of patient care, research, and education.

Education Requirements: PhD, Md/PhD in biological sciences

Qualification and Experience: The ideal job applicant will have formal training at the PhD and postdoctoral levels and at least 5 years of direct work experience in genomic medicine translational research, and research program management and administration. Prior project and data management experience is required. Formal training in leadership and management strategies would be advantageous.
