Postdoctoral Scholar for Adolescent STEM Motivation, Intersectionality, and Families

The University of California, Irvine is seeking highly qualified applicants for a postdoctoral scholar position. The position is part of project funded by the National Science Foundation to examine the relations between high school students' STEM motivational beliefs, family support, and intersectionality. The scholar will work with Drs. Sandra Simpkins and Jacque Eccles. Research will include management and analysis of a large, nationally representative dataset; writing of reports, articles, and presentations; translating research for broader audiences through a website and fact sheets; supervising undergraduate and graduate student researchers; and overseeing the submission and updating of human subjects protocols.

Position will begin January 2019 and continue for one year, with possible renewal for 1.5 additional years dependent upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.

Requirements: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Psychology, Education, Human Development, or another related field by the start of the position. It is preferred that applicants have demonstrated success presenting and publishing journal articles on youth's motivation or family support of youth's education. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience managing data and analyzing quantitative datasets with advanced quantitative statistics (e.g., longitudinal structural equation modeling).
