Open Educational Resources Coordinator
The Montana University System’s Open Educational Resources (OER) Coordinator will develop the Montana Board of Regents OER Initiative, which is to be implemented by the Treasure State Academic Information and Library Services (TRAILS) consortium. OER are license-free textbooks and other educational resources, and the Montana OER Initiative is a cooperative effort that will encourage and incentivize faculty to create their own OER or modify or use existing OER. The OER Initiative is intended to encourage the use of open educational resources throughout the Montana University System, with the intent of reducing student textbook costs, improving student outcomes, and improving faculty and student experiences. The OER Coordinator will report to the TRAILS Coordinator and will work closely with the TRAILS OER Committee. Funded by the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE), this non-tenure track faculty position will be reviewed for continuation after three years.
