Program Representative Intensive English Programs (REQ.29010)
UCLA Extension, a global leader in professional and continuing higher education is looking for an energetic professional to provide logistical oversight and support for its Intensive English Programs within the department of American Language Center (ALC).
Reporting to the director (Continuing Educator) of Intensive English (ESL) Programs and Program Manager, the Program Representative implements and provides administrative support for programs offered by the American Language Center (ALC). The American Language Center provides English instruction to speakers of other languages and has four programmatic cost centers and an administrative cost-center with an annual gross income of over seven million dollars. These programs-include (1) a full-time-day year-round intensive language school; (2) part-time evening/weekend credit and non-credit programs; and (3) short-term programs arranged by special contract. The Academic Intensive English Program (AIEP) and the Intensive English Communication Program (IECP) offered through the ALC are the two largest of these cost-centers with a combined revenue of over six million dollars.
Duties include providing support for instructors and students; program implementation, planning, budgeting and development; student counseling, enrollment and case management; initiating and processing purchasing or catering orders; processing instructor contracts and monthly payments; marketing; financial administration, including budget development and monitoring and providing ad hoc or routine reports; the training of clerical and student worker staff in a full range of administrative tasks. Successful candidate must have administrative and organizational skills in planning, prioritizing and implementing a variety of tasks with competing deadlines. Ability to analyze data, create accurate standardized and ad hoc reports, and provide oral or written presentations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, writing and editing in Standard English. Ability to work independently or with a team and to follow through on projects with minimal supervision.
