Assistant Professor of Sociology - Tenure Track

The Division of Social Sciences at Mount Saint Mary College (NY) is seeking applications for one (1) tenure track Assistant Professor of Sociology with a start date of August 2019. 

Primary Responsibilities

Mount Saint Mary College places a priority on the balance of excellence in teaching, dedication to scholarship, commitment to student engagement, as well as service to the college and community. In addition to teaching 12 credit hours (4 courses) of course work each semester, faculty members are expected to maintain active participation in research, provide academic advisement for students, and be involved in college service. 

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Sociology, with teaching interest and expertise in health care advocacy, and health policy and/or administration. ABDs with an expectation of degree completion by August 31st, 2019 may be considered. Candidates should have higher education teaching experience and/or the expertise to teach both introductory-level courses and upper-level courses in Sociology and in a new Health Care Advocacy concentration within the Human Services major.
