Job Description:

Job Summary

Provides basic clerical support, performs various office tasks, and provides general

customer service within the assigned department or external organization.including

participant and parent orientation, maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment,

assisting facilitators in classroom activities and provide administrative support to

program leads.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure that participants are supervised at all times, and maintain a safe and enjoyable academy environment

• Serves as a leader for all program participants, providing them with instructions for daily activities

• Performs head-counts of participants throughout the day

• Ensures participants are safe (properly hydrated, areas are free of hazards, etc.)

• Assists with the coordination and leading the academy schedule

• Proactively makes and returns phones calls regarding information about the summer academy program

• Assists parents of academy participants with locating and completing the appropriate forms on the College's website

• Prepares all necessary administrative paperwork and documentation for summer academy participants

• Documents inventory of academy supplies and materials

• Assists the facilitators and program directors with the purchasing and collection of needed supplies

• Actively participates in orientation, classroom activities and events

• Keeps track of supplies for academy and conveys any academy needs as required

• Interacts with parents/guardians during drop-off and pick-up times

• Responsible for the preparation of daily setup for classes and programs related to the academy

• Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications


• High School Diploma (or equivalent)

• Must be a currently-enrolled Tri-C student majoring in a program of the Public Safety Center of Excellence

• Must be a currently-enrolled College student majoring in Criminal Justice,

• Law Enforcement or Fire Science at least sophomore status

• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (must submit transcript with application)

• At least 18 years of age

• Valid Ohio State Driver's License


• Possess excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Possess strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail

• Ability to prioritize/handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines in a dynamic environment

• Possess excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships

• Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;

The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;

Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
