Nature of Work:
The Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine is seeking an energetic individual for a full-time Nurse Practitioner position within the Advanced Lung Clinic in the Comprehensive Lungs and Breathing (CLB) Program of the University of Colorado Hospital. The position would hold the title of Instructor of Medicine within the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division of the University of Colorado. The Division oversees a regionally and internationally recognized referral center for the care of patients with all forms of pulmonary disease and critical illness. The responsibilities would include the assessment and ongoing management of patients with underlying pulmonary disease. The provider would work closely with the physicians within the Comprehensive Lung and Breathing Program and would have the opportunity to care for patients within the Complex Airway and Lung Nodule clinics. The provider would participate in multi-disciplinary conferences for these respective clinics and help gather and present data within these conferences and would see in-patients with the Complex Airway group.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Outpatient assessment and care of patients with pulmonary complaints and disease.

  • Assisting physicians in the outpatient care of this same patient population

  • Participation in multi-disciplinary conferences and presentation of patients within these same conferences.

  • Follow-up care: phone follow-up, clinic visits for continuity, medication and monitoring.

  • Scheduling of evaluations and tests

  • Engaging and communicating with consulting services

  • Enrollment and follow-up of patients in clinical trials, where appropriate

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) training
  • Licensed in or eligible for CO medical license
  • Certified to see adolescents and adults

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pulmonary Medicine background
  • General Internal Medicine knowledge-base
  • Advanced lung disease specialized knowledge and skills
  • Excellent bedside manner & physical exam skills
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with multiple medical providers across different disciplines
