Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
The Center for Hierarchical Materials Design at Fayetteville State University invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow position to begin on December 1, 2016. We seek an outstanding and highly motivated researcher to develop a continuum model of solid materials fracturing, conduct computer simulations of mechanical behavior of materials in conditions of cyclic loading, analyze mechanical properties of materials, and visualize the material's structure. The researcher will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with Dr. A. Umantsev and his interdisciplinary group.
This is a 6 months position with a possibility of extension for two more years. Salary is commensurate with the experience. Starting salary is expected to be in the range $30-40K/year.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Materials Science and experience in computer simulations and multi-scale modeling of materials processes.
