Position Summary

This position is responsible for the following:
50% - Training University employees in occupational safety and health in accordance with all local, State, and Federal regulations and University policies and procedurse. Develop a training calendar.
30% - Provide safety and health education to University employees. Meet with supervisors and be a member on the Facilities Operations Safety Committee.
15% - Develop and maintain a Behavior Based Safety Program.
5% - Other duties.



Minimum Qualifications

BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN A PHYSICAL SCIENCE, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE/ENGINEERING, OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY OR RELATED DISCIPLINE; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. SOME POSITIONS MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL TRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS, OR LICENSURE. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.



Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree
Safety Certification CSP, CIH, CHMM



Alternate Option

If no applicants apply who meet the required competency level and training & experience requirements, then management may consider other applicants. Salary would be determined based on competencies, equity, budget, and market considerations.
