The Department of Biology in the College of Science and Mathematics invites applications and nominations for the position of Lecturer. This position is located on the Armstrong campus, located in Savannah, GA., but may require teaching on the other campuses.

Within this setting, the Department of Biology offers a comprehensive biology program leading to B.S., B.A., and M.S. degrees. The department also provides several core curriculum and foundation classes for other majors. This position will contribute student-centered classroom and broad-based laboratory instruction to our students. The Department of Biology teaches introductory majors' and non-majors' courses as well as support courses for the Health Sciences.
Position Description. Reporting to the Department chair, the Lecturer requires teaching multiple courses per semester, which may include introductory biology courses for majors (Principles of Biology I and II) and for non-majors (Environmental Biology). Opportunities may also exist to teach upper-division electives in the Lecturer's area of expertise. Implementing student-centered pedagogies that promote active-learning and development of online courses for the science core will be expected. In addition, service commitments and other duties as specified by the Department Chair can be expected. Lecturer appointments are renewable one year appointments based upon performance. After six consecutive years of service, lecturers who have demonstrated superior teaching and extraordinary value to the institution are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer. Lecturer appointments are non-tenure track, academic (10 month) positions, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
