Business Analyst

Job description

Position Summary: The Business Analyst supports the functional module leads and other personnel within the Finance Division and Administrative Information Systems (IT) to implement system changes, enhancements and other business process improvements and efficiencies. The job duties of the Business Analyst include project management, data gathering, operational gap analysis, process improvement and related implementation tasks. The Business Analyst is expected to gather data, analyze it and assist in developing answers and solutions. The Business Analyst prepares specifications for developers, prepares test use cases, conducts testing, facilitates functional sign-off for migrations to production, completes related documentation, troubleshoots any post production issues, and supports the development of reports related to the projects and solutions. The Business Analyst may support batch processing by reviewing and facilitating error resolution.

Responsibilities: Research, Analysis and Specifications * Identifies potential operational gaps and proposes solutions to address gaps for business processes and reporting/data delivery * Documents and analyzes user business processes, reporting and solution/project requirements * Prepares detailed functional specifications with technical references for development team * Documents version control for complex specifications documents * Serves as facilitator between user and technical group * Develops and delivers quality analysis, reporting, and presentation materials * Documents future state process design, illustrating inputs, outputs and cross swim lane handoffs * Participates in the planning, execution and deployment of enhancements to existing systems * Reviews changes delivered in upgrades and updates, making recommendations as necessary
