Bachelor's Degree required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Preferred Qualifications:
-Three years of professional experience in higher education administration, preferably in a graduate school or graduate student environment.
- Problem-solving skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of computer competence, familiarity with databases and ability to run queries, analyze data, and prepare reports.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft Student Information System (SIS) and other systems, such as Fluid Review, is preferred, as well as the ability to learn new computer systems/applications quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to work with graduate students, faculty and staff from across various campus units.

Position Summary:

The Graduate Student Fellowship Director is a critical member of the Graduate School Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Funding. Successful applicants will demonstrate an ability to work both independently, as well as cooperatively and effectively with members of Graduate School, the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Funding, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education (OVCRGE) Accounting, and the Graduate Research Scholars (GRS) communities and their leadership. This position plays a very important and visible customer service role for the Graduate School.

This position reports directly to the Graduate School's Assistant Dean of Diversity, Inclusion and Funding and oversees the administration of graduate student support programs, including the annual graduate student support allocations, the graduate research and travel support competition, and allocation of endowed fellowships overseen by the Graduate School. The Fellowship Director manages the annual graduate assistant stipend rate setting exercise as well as the ongoing graduate application fee grant process. The position also develops, evaluates and sustains initiatives supporting the recruitment and retention of graduate students, especially those of underrepresented backgrounds.
