Job Summary:

Position Summary
This is an advanced level professional nursing position at University Health Services, UW Madison. The Nurse Clinician 3 (NC3) will be responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients presenting to the Specialty Clinics (Women?s Health, Sexual Health, Employee Health, Community Health, and Travel). This position is designed as a float position to help support the specialty clinics in daily operations.
The UW student population includes a large multicultural group of individuals so the NC3 must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and advanced communication skills. This position reports to the 6th floor Nurse Manager.
The NC3 responsibilities include, but are not limited to: triaging, patient visits under protocol, preforming community health outreach, staffing mass vaccination, assisting with summer camps, teaching and training nursing students and student medical assistants, and communicating effectively with patients, team members and customers both within and outside of UHS.
The Community Health & Travel Clinics provide specialty health services for adolescent, young adult and older adult patients that are students at UW-Madison. The NC3 must possess knowledge of immunization recommendations, allergy immunotherapy procedures, and occupation health requirements for both healthcare and non-healthcare employees and be competent in the use of computer technology.
The Womens Health and Sexual Health Clinics provide specialty health services for adolescents, young adult, and older adult patients that are students at UW-Madison. The NC3 must possess knowledge of reproductive health needs of women across the age span, characteristic health concerns of women in various age groups and assessment and treatment of sexually transmitted infections in both women and men. The NC3 responsibilities include but are not limited to triaging, patient visits under protocol, teaching and mentoring nursing students, and working with our disease management system.

8:30 - 5:00 Monday - Friday with a 30 min lunch or as needed for clinic flow; Hours may fluctuate based on operational needs
