Degree and area of specialization:

The successful candidate must be a graduate from an accredited nursing school, and hold a current RN license to practice in Wisconsin. The successful candidate must also be certified to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Wisconsin.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Two years experience working with geriatric patients preferred. Prior experience in clinical research studies is desired. The applicant should have the ability to work both independently and cooperatively, and be comfortable working with diverse communities and performing procedures after being trained.

License or Certificate:

Current Registered Nurse License for the State of Wisconsin required.

Position Summary:

The Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer's Prevention (WRAP) conducts research in the field of aging and dementia. The primary purpose of this position is to conduct research, education and outreach activities. This position will primarily be located in Milwaukee with one day a week spent in Madison. The successful candidate will assist the Principal Investigators (PIs) and Research Coordinators with the operations of clinical research studies under the guidelines of research protocols and the UW Madison policies. This involves recruitment, consultation, evaluation and feedback of research participants enrolled in the WRAP study. In addition, the candidate will be trained to perform lumbar puncture procedures on research participants.

The applicant's prior work experience should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, sound clinical judgment, good social skills and an ability to multitask.

Minimum travel is required to facilitate visits at our satellite sites in Wisconsin. Must provide own transportation, or a valid driver's license for Car Fleet usage is necessary.
