Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Strategic Communications or related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum 2 years experience executing successful targeted marketing campaigns via digital channels, including web and social media. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to work individually and in a collaborative team environment.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Web maintenance and development; experience with WordPress, other content management systems
Social media marketing; direct experience with LinkedIn, Facebook, and other leading platforms
Ability to understand customer segmentation strategies
Analytical skills; experience utilizing Google Analytics, MailChimp, and social media analytic tools
Proven ability to communicate in a timely, effective manner with external and internal clients
Project management skills; attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Additional Experience and Skills Preferred:
Direct marketing campaigns, list selection, and managing mail plans
Third-party e-marketing platforms such as Eloqua, iContact, Constant Contact, or comparable products

Position Summary:

The Department of Engineering Professional Development is a financially self-sustaining division of the University of Wisconsin Madison's College of Engineering. We are the largest provider of continuing education for engineers and technical professionals in the world and employ about 50 full-time staff, 40 instructors, and 20 students.

We annually serve more than 8,000 engineers and technical professionals from 2,600 companies from all 50 states and 30 different countries. We provide nearly 300 programs annually and consistently rank in the top 10 by US News and World Report.

Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, this position will work within the marketing team to support Program Directors, leveraging marketing channels to achieve organization goals.
