The UVA Career Center is excited to expand its reach to students by hiring three Assistant Directors who serve on the Employer Relations Team. Each has varying responsibilities based on assigned functional area but all provide direct counseling and advising to students, contribute to the design and implementation of programs, and support the administration of academic, alumni, and employer partnerships. The Director is required to have at least 2 years of experience providing career counseling or advising services in a college or university setting or at least 4 years of career counseling or programming experience in a student-development setting. The ideal candidate also has experience building partnerships with external entities and ability to work effectively with alumni, faculty, and employers.
Opportunities exist in the following functional areas:
-Business Classes: Lead facilitator for a 1-week Business Course for Arts & Sciences students and class coordinator for Commerce 1100 (a 14-week introductory business course for Arts & Sciences students).
-Technology & Entrepreneurship: Lead the development and implementation of Entrepreneurship focused programs that support the growth and development of students considering Entrepreneurship as a career path. Also designs programs that support students interested in Technology.
-Life Transforming Programs: Design and implement innovative programs that integrate skill development and experiential learning.
A Master's degree in counseling, higher education administrations or related field is required.
This is a full time, 12-month, 40 hour per week, salaried, three year term limited - restricted position, with benefits. Continuation is based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.
