The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of General Anesthesiology with a focus on Critical Care Anesthesiology, preference is given to those with Cardiac Anesthesia experience. Responsibilities include critical care, cardiac and noncardiac anesthesia at PENN Presbyterian Medical Center and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

The multidisciplinary team of the HVICU at HUP is managed daily by the HVICU intensivist and accommodates a Cardiac Surgery annual volume of circa 1700 patients, including heart and lung transplants, VADs, aortic and TAVR, and more conventional CABG, Valve, Adult Congenital and redo operations. PPMC has 800 cardiac surgical procedures annually. The successful applicant will work with the system chief of critical care and the Cardiac Anesthesia Chief for the OR experience. Based on Department needs, clinical assignments to noncardiac cases is likely. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care and education. ABA certification in anesthesiology or eligibility, CCM certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania licensure are required.

Teaching of residents and fellows is required.
