POSITION SUMMARY Joliet Junior College has three campuses and three satellite centers with AV technology at all locations. The AV Event Specialist assists customers with the planning of campus events; setup and strike of audio visual equipment; prepare quotes and invoices for external customers; video record/stream events, and operate audio and lighting equipment. Provides quality support with high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provides training and support for all campus technology including projectors, TVs/monitors, sound systems, device integration and control system function. Good judgment, initiative, and independent action is expected as an all-campus media services representative of the IT division. The position is expected to work Tuesday through Saturday including evenings. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Coordinate the audio-visual for both internal and external events, including working with 25Live event scheduling process and assisting with event planning. 2. Coordinate daily reservation, distribution, setup and strike of audio visual equipment. 3. Coordinate the return, Quality Check (QC), and organization of Media Services inventory. 4. Prepare quotes and invoices for services and equipment provided by the media services team. Collaborate with the Even Coordinator and Bursar office to ensure proper allocation of received funds. 5. Serve as AV technician, sound and lighting operator, camera operator for events. 6. Effectively manage the sub-rental of equipment to ensure client needs are met. 7. Ensure the functionality of audio, video, and multimedia technologies at all JJC locations. 8. Provide technical support and training to faculty and staff for audio visual and presentation technology. 9. Design and implement improvements to the audio visual resources of the college. 10. Research and prepare recommendations on purchases and replacement of audio visual event equipment. 11. Perform general office responsibilities, including phone, data entry and maintaining clean environment. 12. Prepare reports related to inventory control and services as needed. 13. Perform related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Associate's Degree or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience in the field. 2. Current knowledge of AV best practices. 3. Industry related certifications or relevant technical training. 4. Two (2) years of recent experience working AV at live events. 5. Vehicle to travel between college campuses/centers and a valid driver's license. 6. Excellent Customer Service skills; strong verbal and written communication skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Recent experience with audio mixers and live sound. 2. Experience with stage lighting. 3. Experience with AV control systems. PHYSICAL DEMANDS 1. Equipment (up to 75lbs) will be lifted, hung or transported throughout campus. 2. Power tools will be used. 3. Office and classroom clean-up will require ability to kneel on floor and/or bend at waist. 4. Campus is large and employee will be expected to walk multiple miles within 8hr. shift. WORK SCHEDULE 1. Tuesday through Friday - noon to 8:30pm 2. Saturday - shift will vary depending on the event schedule WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Most duties performed indoors; some exterior AV setup/production may be required.
