Experience Requirement: Candidates should have an active program of research with potential for external funding. The department seeks applicants whose work relates to clinical applications at the intersection of psychology and law (e.g., forensic assessment, psychopathy, malingering, risk assessment, offender treatment) with either adult or child/adolescent populations. SHSU is seeking culturally and academically diverse faculty committed to fostering a lifelong learning environment.
Usual Duties: Duties will include conducting and supervising research, supervising theses and dissertations, supervising clinical practica, and teaching in the graduate (masters and doctoral) and undergraduate programs in the department (including graduate-level courses in psychometrics, psychological testing, and assessment).
Degree Requirements: Candidates should have a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology program and must be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas. Applications from individuals who are ABD will be considered, but the doctoral degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Other Requirements for the Position: A preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential for extramural funding. Candidates must be committed to a student-centered approach and have a passion for teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
