I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Law School's Legal Clinics is searching for a full-time Office Assistant. This position will be provide administrative support to faculty and will have the following responsibilities:

• Assists assigned clinical faculty with a wide variety of administrative duties (faxing, typing, filing, shipping to FedEx/UPS/USPS, scheduling appointments, telephone inquiries, making reservations, ordering course materials, renewing subscriptions, etc.). Maintains and organizes client case files.
• Assists at the front desk reception to include answering incoming calls; orders office supplies; picks up, opens, processes, and distributes mail; and assists in other general office-related tasks.
• Makes travel arrangements and prepares reimbursement requests as requested, and may assist with programming of events to include reservation of and set-up of rooms, scheduling catering, etc.
• Performs data entry, creates spreadsheets and/or reports, and assists with minor IT troubleshooting.
• Maintains and organizes department files with responsibility for periodic retirement and/or disposal of obsolete materials.
• Assists with the student registration process, and serves as the administrative point of contact with students.
• Solves routine administrative or procedural problems with other departments, and coordinates the maintenance of office equipment to include copiers, fax machines, phones, etc.
• Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent administrative office experience to include attention to detail and demonstrated ability to organize tasks, preferably in an academic setting.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is highly desired, as well as familiarity with other contemporary office applications.

Typical Hiring Range $14.37 - $18.68 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
