I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

This position will report to, and work closely with, the Director of Simulation to ensure best practices of the simulation are utilized to enhance student learning. This position requires demonstrated critical thinking skills along with hands-on involvement to support and drive continued innovation, expertise, and learning impact in the simulation lab environment. Responsibilities include preparing, monitoring and assessing the performance of simulation specific lab equipment, testing student lab environments and/or piloting assignments to ensure desired learning outcomes. Identifying and analyzing strengths and opportunities in simulation lab equipment performance, and configuration set up, for learning modules. Providing feedback and input on areas of opportunities uncovered through root cause analysis, student feedback, industry/knowledge forums and previous experience. Provide potential solutions and suggestions to Simulation Director. Tactical responsibilities include operational and interactive management of the Simulation Lab facilities, and equipment, monitoring patient simulation lab environments, supporting lab logistics and module set up, assessment and communication of safety requirements for students/faculty related to equipment usage and maintenance, and preparation of clinical stations. Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. This role will require work on weekends and evenings and is based at GW's Virginia Science & Technology Campus in Ashburn, Virginia.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Healthcare experience and simulation experience preferred. Certification or the ability to obtain certification (Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist) within 2 years of employment. Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical thinking and skills. Proficient in medical terminology. Strong organizational skills, be self-directed with the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities on a daily basis. Basic Microsoft office computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Power Point. Self-motivated and detail oriented, able to multi-task, prioritize, work with multiple interruptions, and adapt under pressure.

Typical Hiring Range $47,500 - $60,200 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
