Position Summary:

The Audio Visual (AV) Technologies Technician is responsible for the set up, maintenance and delivery of audio visual and computer equipment at all campus locations in support of the college. The individual is also responsible for assisting and training customers with audiovisual and computer equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot, configure, and deploy high tech audiovisual and computer equipment, including digital integrated control systems, video routing, wireless microphone systems, complex sound systems, and computer/mobile device hookups at all campus locations in support of instruction and events.

Provide daily audio/visual training and assistance for faculty, staff, students, and external users in the proper use of college equipment. Develop training and user help materials as required.

Perform regular maintenance and repairs on audio visual systems and equipment.

Plan and execute complex audio visual setups for both large and small scale events on campus or at venues such as hotels, restaurants, as well as state and county offices. Evaluate and recommend audiovisual technology for use in such events. Work with media and broadcast services staff to provide audio feeds for recording, streaming, and external broadcasts. Design and execute audio setups for special events for State and Local agencies. Evaluate equipment and setup needs. Provide audio feeds for local and national press.

Advise and work with faculty and staff on new equipment and technology trends as they become available and viable that may be incorporated as pedagogy evolves in relation to technology.

Responsible for entering data and updating audiovisual and computer equipment reservations using the scheduling database and the Service Desk ticketing system. Review daily and weekly event and class schedules to prioritize and anticipate audiovisual requirements. Update tickets and reservations related to audiovisual troubleshooting, training, maintenance, and equipment usage. Develop or assist in developing documentation and procedures related to audiovisual equipment usage, installation, maintenance, etc.

Work with project teams on the design and purchase recommendations for all AV equipment. Oversee external vendors performing installations, repairs, and maintenance of audio/visual systems. Complete acceptances to ensure compliance with the college's functional and technical requirements and specifications.

Assist in completing periodic inventory of college audio visual and computer equipment housed in classrooms and storage closets and ensure inventory records are kept up to date on all replacements.



Required Qualifications:

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience to include set up, maintenance and delivery of audio visual and computer equipment. Demonstrated ability to assisti and train users on the audiovisual and computer equipment.

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Demonstrates knowledge in AV Equipment and IT Service Management Tools.
Basic knowledge with: Windows OS, iOS, MS Office/Office 365, PC Hardware, Mobile Devices.

Ability to acquire and maintain a lift certification. Ability to perform work in high places using a lift.
Ability to frequently climb ladders and handle outdoor and indoor events including sustained audio set ups over 75dB.

Demonstrated record of punctuality and dependability.

Effective oral and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to relay information and operational directions in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends to support the needs of the college.

Ability to work at any College site or location (such as Arnold, GBTC, AMIL, Sr. Centers, etc.) in support of college needs.



Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as InfoComm CTS, CTS-I, A+, Network+ or other related discipline.

Associates Degree in technology related field.

Experience reading blue prints and schematics.

Experience working with Audio Visual Vendors.



Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: M-TH 2pm-10pm, Fr 8:30am-4:30pm
