The College of Science and Humanities at Husson University invites applications for a full-time, ranked faculty position in Applied Statistics or Data Analytics at the level of Assistant Professor to begin in Spring or Fall 2019. Appointment at higher rank will considered for qualified candidates. Teaching responsibilities include 12 credit hours per semester of statistics and research design courses at the general education level, data analytics courses, as well as upper level statistics courses to be taught at our Bangor campus in addition to select courses in an online platform. We are not currently accepting applications for exclusively online faculty at this time.The appropriate candidate will contribute to development and implementation of a data analytics major and provide support for ongoing growth in the mathematics department offerings. Faculty in the College of Science and Humanities have an established culture of incorporating undergraduate students into research projects and/or providing experiential learning opportunities for its majors. The successful candidate will exhibit interest and experience in bringing real-world data projects to students. Support to create a private consulting center is an option for interested candidates. All ranked faculty are expected to fulfill institutional expectations of teaching, scholarship, advising, and service.

Requirements for the position include an earned master's degree in Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Analytics or an associated field, with a doctorate degree preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to effective teaching and student learning, as well as the ability to collaborate across disciplines to develop outstanding educational opportunities for students. Preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching and mentoring student research at the undergraduate level or industry experience.
