Assistant Professor/Recreation & Park Management/Outdoor Recreation & Experiential Education
The Department of Recreation, Parks & Tourism Administration at California State University, Sacramento, is seeking applications for a probationary, tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor rank in the area of Recreation and Park Management with a specialty in Outdoor Recreation/Experiential Education. This appointment is to begin fall 2019. Priority review of applications will begin November 2, 2018. Position open until filled.
Education: Ph.D. (or comparable degree). At a minimum, an applicant must have at least one degree in Recreation, or a closely related field. Individuals who are verified ABD at the time of application, will be considered. Evidence must be given that the degree will be finished within one year of appointment.
Additional Requirements: Applicants should demonstrate teaching experience related to the subject matter. Applicants should show evidence of having the equivalent of at least two years full-time experience (or the equivalent in part-time employment) working in outdoor recreation and education or a closely related field within the last ten years. (A candidate with less industry experience may be considered if the applicant can show evidence of extensive teaching, student advising, and course development in the area of recreation management.) A strong academic background in at least one area of outdoor recreation/education is required.
