Position Summary    

The Long-Term Temporary (LTT) faculty member shall be responsible for the following: coordination of instructional programs and/or teaching assigned classes, if assigned, under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of a full-time faculty member as outlined in the college faculty handbook.


The Cosumnes River College (CRC) Pharmacy Technology Program is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).


Assignment Responsibilities    

Pharmacy Technology Assistant Professor (80%) 

The instructional assignment may include, but is not limited to teaching lecture, laboratory, and clinical courses in all levels of Allied Health and Pharmacy Technology at the college in:

• Introduction to Allied Health, 

• Medical Language for Health-Care Providers

• Human Disease

• Pharmacology for the Health Care Professional

• Introduction to Pharmacy Practice

• Pharmaceutical Calculations

• Pharmacology of Therapeutic Agents

• Pharmaceutical Information Management

• Retail Operations of Pharmaceutical Practice

• Preparation of Pharmaceutical Products

• Acute Care Practicum

• Retail Practicum


The instructional assignment may include day, evening, online, hybrid, weekend, and/or off-campus classes.


Pharmacy Technology Program Director (20%) 

Typical duties may included, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating the Pharmacy Technology Program.

• Maintaining good accreditation standing and required accreditation documents, and complying with the accreditation standards at all times.

• Managing the daily operation of the program including organization, administration, strategic planning, and periodic program review and evaluation.

• Reviewing and revising curricula to ensure students are prepared to meet the needs of the industry.

• Maintaining the budget.

• Maintaining and establishing clinical sites.

• Maintaining and establishing a collaborative relationship with the industry and health care providers.

• Overseeing the advisory committee

• Performing other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications    

1. Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, completed by January 17, 2019, AND five years of experience as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician; OR, have an associate’s degree from an accredited institution, AND six years of professional experience; OR, have a Community College Instructor’s Credential in the discipline area; OR, the equivalent.*


2. Licensed pharmacist or a nationally certified pharmacy technician.


3. Graduated from an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited pharmacy technician training program.


4.
