Job Description Summary:

The Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD) community is dedicated to the mission of leading innovation through learning. Our students emerge from our programs enriched in theory and practice and become agents of change in education and human services. GSEHD is searching for Admissions Coordinator who will play a critical role in recruiting qualified candidates to the Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD). The Coordinator collaborates with the Admissions Director and faculty to develop a deep knowledge of program curriculum and content that is essential to successful support and development of prospective student interest. This role works with prospective students through email, phone, and in person events. The Coordinator is responsible for building relationships with applicants for a specific group of programs and support the application process from initial queries through processing applications, decisions, and enrollments. This position will report to the Associate Dean.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborates with faculty and marketing staff to identify and promotes unique value of GSEHD programs.
Initiates and maintains contact with prospective students, explains programs, responds to in person, phone, and email inquiries and works with faculty and current students to cultivate prospects interest and application to GSEHD. Uses CRM system to reach out and update prospective students.
Assists the admissions team in the processing of applications, processes student enrollments after completion of Statement of Understanding, and assists in the coding process of newly admitted students.
Develops and maintains close working relationships with key school constituents to assist in converting admitted students to enrolled status.
Represents GSEHD at recruiting events both in Washington and nation-wide. Travel is required.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience in higher education or marketing; direct experience in enrollment management, admissions, or recruitment in an educational environment strongly preferred.

Customer service skills, including the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals (prospective students, faculty, alumni, staff, and current students).

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with ability to speak publicly both in person and via web-based tools.

Familiarity with CRM database and application software, preferably Salesforce, TargetX, and Banner.

Experience coordinating and executing in-person and virtual events. Familiarity with virtual event platforms (i.e., Webex).

Typical Hiring Range $16.43 - $21.39 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
