Posting Summary:
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks a Lab Specialist Intermediate. The Laboratory Specialist Intermediate plays an important role working with the Principal Investigators and research staff to plan, implement, and evaluate clinical and population research projects.

A Bachelor's degree in healthcare or science-related field is required by appointment start date. A minimum of six years experience in working with clinical, translational, and population health related research projects is required. A Master's degree may substitute for experience. Candidates must have knowledge of population and clinical research including best practices of consenting patient and recruitment, clinical and epidemiological data collection, the ability to modify and develop lab procedures, management of large biorepository, the ability to organize samples sets and data sets using computerized databases, the ability to plan and execute tasks of experiments, and the ability to solve problem independently. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication, the ability to accurately interpret and report findings, as well as the ability to train others and direct their work.

This position is restricted and contingent upon the continuation of funding.
