Job description

The Application Analyst II/UKHC will be held accountable for establishing strong credibility & collaboration with our physicians, customers, department leadership, affiliated organizations, and all IT staff members including this Application Analyst II role. This is a highly matrixed organization which requires excellent interpersonal skills, persuasion and influencing skills, ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams through significant amount of varied work assignments. The Application Analyst II/UKHC will be an integral part of a highly productive applications team implementing and supporting ancillary, clinical, financial, revenue cycle and administrative changes, enhancements, product feature/service packs, patches and upgrades. Monitors and performs daily maintenance and audit of critical application files to ensure performance and data integrity between interfacing and interfaced systems. Perform problem analysis and impact in support of decisions and planning in application processes. Effectively collaborate and coordinate vendor resources in problem resolution. In collaboration with ITS Integration, this position will monitor and resolve interface issues. Actively participate in the development of test scenarios and execution of unit, functional/system and integration testing. UK HealthCare is a comprehensive healthcare system consisting of the medical, nursing, health sciences, public health, dental and pharmacy patient care activities of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, and in several off-site locations. UK HealthCare is expanding through the construction of a new hospital and potential future acquisitions.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); occasional exposure to radiation; and occasional job related travel (


Primarily Monday-Friday with call responsibilities overnight and weekends.


The ideal candidate will have five years of experience implementing and supporting information systems/ applications; will operate effectively within a matrixed organization; demonstrates strong analytical and qualitative research experience; be well organized; have exceptional communication skills (written & verbal); enjoy working independently as well as closely with their co-workers in a supportive team environment; ability to understand computer function; above average customer service skills; strong ability to engage and motivate others; and active listening skills.

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor degree and/or years of experience in healthcare, radiology and/or cardiology, preferred.
