Part-Time Temporary Learning Specialist - Learning/Access Center

Job description


The part-time Learning Specialist works one-on-one directly with students enrolled for a disability at the Learning/ Access Center, at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Student meetings can involve time-management, learning strategies, study skills, problem-solving to minimize the impact of a disability in an academic setting, assistance with communication and advocacy with professors, and consultation with other L/AC staff and associated professionals (both at Pratt Health and Counseling and with outside providers).

Regular attendance at staff meetings and consultation meetings required; otherwise, schedule can be flexible. 20-25 hours/week during the academic term.

Education: Master's Degree in Counseling, Special Education, Rehabilitation, Social Work or related field.

Qualifications/Experience Three or more years experience working directly with students with disabilities in an academic setting, preferably at the post-secondary level. Experience supporting students with mental health conditions preferred.
