POSITION SUMMARY:    
The College of Arts and Sciences, Division of Language Literature and Philosophy at Kentucky State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure track, Assistant Professor in Mass Communications and Journalism.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be required to teach a four/four course load and have a passion and ability to teach a broad range of courses in the major with a commitment to student-centered learning in undergraduate education.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in Communications, Media Studies, or closely related field and a specialty in Public Relations. Knowledge of photography is strongly encouraged.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Candidates should appreciate a diverse student population, participate in recruitment/retention activities, and advise/mentor students. An established record of scholarly activity and service are expected.
