The Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences at Kentucky State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Psychology (Multicultural).  The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. degree in Psychology from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.  Other requirements include the potential for, or record of, research, scholarly and/or creative activity, and a demonstrated potential for effective teaching using a variety of methodologies including on-line instruction.  A strong commitment to diversity is essential.  Desired qualifications include: An established record of research publications and teaching, the ability to offer students research experiences, experience with on-line courses, as well as, grant writing experience.  The selected individual will possess the ability to teach in areas that include several of the following: Master’s level Forensic/Psychology and Law coursework; and undergraduate level Abnormal Psychology, Human Development, History and Systems, Seminar in Psychology, as well as, General Psychology.  Duties also include mentoring students, engaging in research, publishing, grant-seeking, and other related professional/scholarly/creative activities, involving students whenever possible, and contributing to the department, college, and university through committee involvement, curriculum/course development, student assessment, and community service.
