This position provides administrative program support to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH), Department of Medicine (DOM), Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology. The Division is composed of 30 faculty members, three follows, and a varying number (over 200) of research and administrative personnel. The Division of Geriatrics has clinics at UW Health University Station, UW Health East, Oakwood West, Wisconsin Sleep and the VA Hospital. The Geriatrics Division also supports educational programs for physician training at all levels.
As Geriatrics Division administrative support, this USPA position will assist by coordinating, delegating and performing administrative duties directly for the Geriatrics and Gerontology Program, Division Head, Division Administrator, ADRC Administrator and other Geriatrics faculty and staff. This position will collaborate with the VA Madison Geriatrics Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) Administrative Officer and associated staff. The USPA provides support to the Geriatrics faculty and staff to assist in achieving successful performance of clinical patient care, teaching, research service, outreach and other activities.
This is a multi-faceted position with a high level of independence and professionalism expected of the successful candidate. The USPA coordinates a wide range of daily activities for the Geriatrics faculty and is expected to communicate effectively with persons external to the Division and Department, have knowledge and understanding of the complexity of the geriatrics patient population and advance knowledge of Division, Department, University, State and Federal requirements for the program. The USPA should have the ability to exercise exceptional judgment, organization, communication, computer and personal relations skills.
