This position performs specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) procedures in support to the daily operational needs of the Radiology Area of UW Veterinary Care (UWVC). The position requires proficiency in diagnostic magnetic resononance imaging (MRI), CT, and radiologic imaging skills, independence of action and initiative to coordinate and follow through with technical responsibilities. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
1) Demonstrates proficiency in MRI & CT imaging skills; responsible for minor maintenance of equipment, instructing others in use and care of MRI equipment, and assisting clinicians
2) Anticipate needs of clinicians during procedures; maintain MRI area in a state of readiness;
3) Maintain diagnostic radiologic imaging skills to ensure efficiency within the Radiology Area.
The incumbent performs complex exams requiring independent decisions based upon clinical situations to ensure that high quality animal patient care is offered. The position functions under the general supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor.
Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligible to register
Monday-Friday Hours between (8.30-5.30pm) with lunch break. Schedule is based on departmental needs and may change.
