Posting Summary:
University Advancement is hiring a Development Associate to be a critical member of the Strategic Events team within the office of Donor Relations.

The Development Associate will be responsible for supporting a number of local and regional events to introduce President Ryan to UVA constituencies during the 2018-19 academic year as well as events associated with the public launch of the capital campaign in the fall of 2019. This position will be responsible for creating and managing individual events in the University's database; managing event responses using the Eventbrite platform; proofing and printing name tags, menu cards, and other event-related print materials; running and formatting reports for inclusion in event briefing materials. This position has limited but regular communication with donors related to event inquiries. This position may offer administrative support to the stewardship team on an as-needed basis.
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of two years administrative experience in a position where accuracy and attention to detail were critical and will have experience proofing and preparing written communication for external audiences. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will consistently display professionalism and maintain composure even in the most difficult situations.

This is a restricted, one year, term-limited position.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to work with spreadsheets and central financial accounting applications. Ability to work with databases, response tracking and mail processing. Ability to interact with executive level administrators, faculty/staff, donors/prospects, volunteers, and alumni, with an understanding of protocol, political environment and implications, and confidentiality.
