The LAS-Global Studies Program is seeking a full-time Lecturer to contribute to: 1) the development and teaching of core courses for the undergraduate program in Global Studies, 2) the advising and mentoring of Global Studies majors, and 3) general program development and support. Candidates should be able to teach an introductory Global Studies course, courses in Human Rights and other areas of specialization. This is a non-tenure track position with an initial appointment of Jan 1, 2019- June 15, 2019. The position is renewable yearly based on funding and strong performance reviews. Renewed appointments will be on a 10-month service basis (Aug 16- June 15).

Minimum Education and Work Experience

PhD degree required by the start date. Degree should be in International or Global Studies, Geography, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, or related Social Science. Experience in teaching Human Rights and any of the following areas is required: Development Studies, Global Health, Culture and Communication, Governance, or Environment and Sustainability. Interdisciplinary background and experience teaching interdisciplinary courses required. Formal advising/mentoring experience and evidence of effective teaching required.

Preferred experience: teaching in traditional and non-traditional environments (e.g., online, blended, field), international education program development, ability to teach social science research methods, regional focus in Latin America, and demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary and global pedagogy.
