Position Summary: The principal function of this position is to facilitate the administrative and financial activities of the UNC Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility (UNC-CEHS), with strong emphasis on analyzing, interpreting, applying, communicating and promoting the best practices of the Center, in an effort to meet the overall organizational mission, goals and objectives. This position reports directly to the Center's Research Project Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit. The Business Officer manages the accounting, budgeting and financial reporting for all fund types within the Center, with primary focus on pre-and post-award contract and grants management of a complex multi-component award and other affiliated research and training activities. This role provides leadership and guidance in fiscal matters, has a thorough understanding of University, State and Federal policies and procedures to ensure the department is operating in compliance, and provides support on financial system issues, if necessary. The Business Officer serves as a key liaison with other administrators across campus and must possess the ability to effectively interact with faculty, staff, students and other affiliates, at a high level, within a University research program.

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
