HR CoordinatorPosition Summary
MSU IT HR supports a dynamic and growing organization of over 600 IT professionals across MSU's campus and within Michigan. We partner with IT leaders to support the people aspects of decisions, tactics and strategies that advance IT's mission of providing the platform for Michigan State University to excel in research, education, and outreach. We are looking for an HR Coordinator with strong administrative experience to support the hiring, development and engagement of this great MSU IT team.
The HR Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the administration and coordination of the hiring processes and the timely, accurate processing of all personnel actions for professional, clerical, student and temporary/on-call employees within IT. Assists the team's HR Administrators in change management initiatives with IT partners to ensure that clients are able to fully utilize and benefit from IT services and tools. Responsible for the development, procurement and manipulation of HR-related reports for dissemination throughout the department and university.Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in human resources, a related social science field, or a field related to the operations of the department; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function or an area related to departmental operations; experience supporting the recruitment and hiring process, including the use of Internet-based social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Twitter; experience developing, running and manipulating reports for departmental use; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team on several tasks/projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Experience with MSU's PageUp hiring system and EBS.
- Experience with HR processes and documentation, as well as familiarity with university policies & procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the use, application, and maintenance of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
