The laboratory of Dr. Judith Woodfolk in the Division of Allergy at the University of Virginia is seeking applicants for a Post-doctoral Research Associate position focused on studying the immune response to allergens and respiratory viruses in human-based experimental systems. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing experiments in specified areas of research and will write grant proposals, manuscripts for publication, and abstracts for presentation at national and international meetings. Supervision and instruction of graduate students is also required. The individual must have experience and established expertise in immunology.
Candidates must have a PhD in Microbiology or a related field in hand by November 1, 2018, with a background in immunology, as well as have evidence in conducting research, and preparing manuscripts. The successful applicant should also be highly motivated, creative, and possess a strong work ethic and critical thinking abilities. Incumbent must have a keen interest in human immunology, allergy, and virology. Expertise in advanced flow cytometry techniques is also preferred.
This position is restricted and therefore contingent upon funding.
