The Biocomplexity Institute and Initiative (The Institute) at the University of Virginia is seeking applicants for a Senior Finance Generalist. This exciting new initiative provides a huge opportunity to grow the breadth and depth of biocomplexity research for Virginia and the nation. The Senior Finance Generalist assists the COO with budgeting, financial reporting, and overseeing the day to day financial operations of the institute.
A bachelor's degree is required as well as at least five years of experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and account reconciliation. An MBA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Applicants must have excellent analytical and numerical ability. The ability to record and report financial and budget data clearly and accurately and the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities and needs are required. Applicants must also possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential. Additionally, experience in higher education administration and financial affairs and experience with post-award administration is preferred.
