Requisition Title: Assistant Professor - Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery - 1803834

The Department of Otolaryngology - Head &Neck Surgery, University of Toronto is seeking to recruit a full time head & neck surgeon at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to a position at the University Health Network. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2019 or as mutually agreed upon.

The position is well suited to an early to mid-career Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon with an interest in neurotology and vestibular disorders. It is expected this individual will have advanced skills in otology and expertise in endoscopic minimally invasive ear surgery. Responsibilities include patient care, teaching and trainee supervision that are aligned with the goals of the department. The successful candidate will have advanced clinical training with a PhD or equivalent and a research focus in vestibular and balance disorders and otologic surgery. University Health Network, Toronto Ontario is a secondary, tertiary and quaternary health science centre providing services to Toronto, southern Ontario and Canada. The Department of Otolaryngology at the University Health Network is sub-specialty focused in head and neck oncology and neurotology. The department has an academic focus in translational research in head and neck oncology and development of innovative technologies in vestibular disorders, as well as translational research in hearing and balance.

Applicants must have successfully completed an accredited medical school and residency training with specialization in otolaryngology - head & neck surgery. The candidate must hold an MD degree and a Fellowship in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada or equivalent and will be eligible for an independent practice license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. He/She should be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commensurate with his/her qualifications and academic achievements in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto. Remuneration is subject to an agreed job description, as well as commensurate with qualifications and experience.
