Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time

General Summary of Responsibilities: The College of the Arts seeks applicants for a fiscal (12-month), administrative faculty appointment. Reporting directly to the Dean, the department head is responsible for the overall day to day functions of the department. This includes, but is not limited to: 
 *Hiring, managing and evaluating faculty members within the department.
 *Conducting periodic Departmental meetings.
 *Scheduling classes and sections for each faculty member in each academic semester. *Advising, scheduling, overseeing internships and providing overrides, where appropriate, for students during the academic year.
 *Teaching required courses during the academic year. *Conducting required research during the academic year. *Attending required conferences, including those associated with academic presentations during the academic year. *Participating in Executive Committee meetings during the academic year. *Attending monthly University Department Head meetings.
 *Serves as Budget Manager for the departmental budget. The department is NASAD accredited and comprised of an administrative secretary and 15 full-time tenured/tenure track faculty. Required Qualifications: Appropriate terminal degree in an area directly related to Art/Studio, Design/New/Digital Media, Interior Design, Art Education, or Art History; Demonstrated teaching excellence commensurate with tenure and appointment to the rank of Associate or Full Professor; Participation in professional arts organizations at the state and national levels; Evidence of a professional record of scholarship; Ability to develop the department academic programs, making curricular revisions, and complete assessment/accreditation requirements; Experience with recruitment and retention; Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship; Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
