Position Summary: The purpose of the Social/Clinical Research Specialist/Biocurator is to support ongoing curation efforts and to conduct data analysis in the research program directed by Dr. Jonathan Berg, primarily the Clinical Genome Resource (ClinGen). Curation support will entail the identification, collection, and evaluation of data from the medical/scientific literature and online databases. The selected candidate will provide consultation to ClinGen working groups in order to enable these groups to assess the strength of evidence supporting gene-disease relationships and the pathogenicity of genetic variants. This individual may also identify, evaluate, and modify data collection methodologies. He/she will be expected to participate in local meetings of the research group and conference calls with ClinGen clinical domain experts. Successful job performance will require learning and implementation of the curation framework and protocols developed by ClinGen. The Social/Clinical Research Specialist/Biocurator will track the progress of their curation projects and provide feedback to the Biocuration supervisor. He/she will contribute to manuscript preparation and writing, as needed.

Education Requirements:

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
