Post Doctoral Fellow
Functional Title Post Doctoral Fellow
Position Type Research
We are seeking applicants for a postdoctoral scholar position in Hematian research group. The project will focus on the mild metal-catalyzed C-H activation and will involve inorganic synthesis and catalytic assays supported by detailed mechanistic studies. Applicants with a strong background in airfree manipulations, catalysis, standard characterization techniques and spectroscopies are encouraged to apply. Most importantly we are looking for someone with enthusiasm for science and research, so applications from exceptional individuals who have a different scientific focus within fields related to different aspects of inorganic chemistry are more than welcome.
The position start date is flexible and can commence this fall or next spring. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment and have close interactions with other team members with diverse backgrounds in a variety of areas including bioinorganic chemistry, chemical biology, biophysics, materials chemistry, and electrochemistry to broaden their skills.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry or a related discipline. Other required qualifications include strong research background, excellent written communication skills as demonstrated in application materials and publications, the desire to mentor junior researchers and professionally interact with a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in inorganic, bioinorganic, organometallic or organic synthesis, metal-mediated transformations, or mechanistic studies is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a collaborative research effort and the desire to participate in external proposal writing and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
