The purpose of this position is to provide professional level support to the Human Resources Division, Benefits and Data Management section of Human Resources. The position's primary focus will be processing employment and benefits related paperwork for all types of employees in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Duties: The incumbent of this position duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Receives and reviews documentation for completeness and accuracy for all electronic personnel action requests and audits corresponding employment documents to include staff, NRA's, Students, Postdocs, temporary; processes accordingly
  • Processes and enters data in PeopleSoft for all new hires, terminations, salary changes, transfers, and benefit changes (in coordination with OneUSG Connect-Benefits) in a timely and accurate manner according to the published payroll schedule
  • Provides highest level of customer service to campus employees, department managers, retirees and other AU business units as necessary to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee data. This will include coordination with OneUSG Connect-Benefits
  • Explain TRS and ORP retirement plan options to new hires; provides information to ensure the new hire can make an informed decision within the allotted time of sixty days; follows up with employee at the thirty, forty-five and fifty-nine day interval to ensure employee has made a decision and appropriate forms are submitted
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files. Submits online investigation requests and assists with employee background checks for students, temporaries and non-paid affiliates
  • Generates and provides daily queries to colleagues within Benefits and Data Management, Managers and Director
  • Reviews employee payroll deductions and process adjustments accordingly
  • Assists all employees with any questions, claims, and/or issues related to their benefits coverage
  • Completes AU cleareance process for all terminating employees
  • Assists walk-in customers with inquiries in a timely and courteous manner
  • Processes supplemental retirement enrollements, changes and/or terminations in a timely manner
  • Provides general retirement information to potential retirees in the absence of the Manager, Retirement and Records Services
  • Meets with all new hires for in-processing; requests any additional paperwork and facilitates Great Start. This will include preparing new hire files
  • Reviews pre-payroll queries to ensure all data is accurate prior to pay run
  • Performs other clerical functions as assigned
