Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Associate's Degree (or foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of the degree, two [2] years of directly related full-time on-the-job professional experience or a combination of education and experience totaling two [2] years may be considered. One year of directly related on-the-job professional experience or internship. Familiarity with at least one of the following: stage electrics and theatrical lighting design; audio systems for live events; video and projection equipment; stage management.


Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of advanced professional work experience in at least one of the following areas: experience in training other technicians; stage electrics and theatrical lighting design; audio systems for live events; video and projection equipment; stage management.


Brief Description of Duties:

Candidates will set up and operate audio-visual equipment including projectors, sound systems, video monitors, and theatrical lighting. In addition to providing assistance in the various meeting rooms and lecture halls, the audio-visual technicians will also support events in the Charles B. Wang Theater.

  • Assist Production Manager in the execution of audio, video, or lighting systems for events (e.g. programming lights; creating lighting looks; mixing sound; ). At times, serve as lead technician and/or stage manager.
  • Maintain advanced audio-visual and theatrical equipment. (e.g. focusing lights; upkeep and minor repairs.
  • Assist Production Manager in providing job specific training for student assistants.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
Special Notes: This is a per diem appointment. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
