Position Summary: THIS POSITION IS BEING RE-POSTED. PREVIOUS APPLICANTS ARE STILL BEING CONSIDERED AND NEED NOT REAPPLY. The primary role for this position is to serve as the sample tracking coordinator for the Translational Genomics Laboratory (TGL) in the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Duties include working with research teams, clients on and off campus, and other core facilities to secure appropriate samples, enter them into the TGL laboratory information management system, and ensure appropriate specimen labeling. The role of this position is also to work with the TGL Director and staff to identify ways to improve the TGL sample intake and tracking process. This person monitors all samples entering and exiting TGL, and provides updates to supervisory personnel and clients. This individual will be involved in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of laboratory best practices, standard operating procedures and documentation methods related to sample data intake and coordination. This position involves client support activities including providing follow-up and project updates to TGL clients, as well as requesting and tracking invoicing through the finance office. Meticulous attention to detail is a must for this position.
